SCHRAG invests in new bending technology with automation

SCHRAG is investing in two new press brakes and is taking a further step towards automating its production processes as part of the "Smart Factory Project".

Two new TRUMPF press brakes have been successfully put into operation in order to process edging profiles up to 1,500 and 4,250 mm in length even more efficiently in our proven material range of 0.75 mm - 4.00 mm. The high-performance bending machines are characterised in particular by their above-average speed and user-friendly ergonomics. Both machines are equipped with an angle measurement sensor system that optimally supports our endeavours for accuracy of fit and perfection and raises them to a new level. The possibility of offline machine programming from the office workstation creates a modern interface between business partners and our production. In future, digital customer drawings (STEP, DWG files, etc.) can be used even more efficiently and the time required for machine programming can be reduced.

The investment is complemented by a mobile bending cell with an industrial robot from KUKA, with which small parts can be manufactured automatically. Our technological leadership has a positive impact on response times, which is reflected in fast deliveries for our customers.

The new press brakes and the mobile robot cell have been in use at the Údlice site since September 2023.

Further investments for our German sites have already been ordered. We will be happy to inform you in detail in the near future.

The advantages at a glance:

  • Perfect quality and accuracy of fit.
  • Best possible delivery times when processing digital customer drawings using offline machine programming.
  • High workplace attractiveness thanks to automation, digitalisation and user-friendly ergonomics.
